Born on April 8, 1966 in Dallas, Texas, United States, Robin Gayle Wright is now a resident of the United States. Gayle Wright (née Gaston) was born to parents Fred Wright, a pharmaceutical company employee, and Gayle Wright (née Gaston). When she was two years old, her parents split, resulting in her moving to San Diego, California with her mother. Richard Wright is Wright’s elder brother.
In Southern California, she attended La Jolla High School in La Jolla and Taft High School in Los Angeles during her youth.

Robin Wright has been in a marriage three times. She married Dane Witherspoon, an actor, in 1986 to 1988, having first met on the set of the soap opera Santa Barbara in 1984.
Following his divorce from Madonna, Wright started dating actor Sean Penn in 1989. From 1996 to 2010, the couple wed and had two children together – a daughter named Dylan who was born in 1991 and a son named Hopper who was born in 1993.
Wright started dating Ben Foster, an actor, following her divorce from Penn. Their engagement lasted from 2014 to 2015, but they briefly reunited. Clément Giraudet, an executive at Saint Laurent, became Wright’s partner in 2017.
