Born on April 15, 1959, Thompson was a resident of Paddington, London, England. From an early age, Thompson has been surrounded by creative individuals. Phyllida Law, her mother, was an actress who made a notable appearance in a movie adaptation of Much Ado About Nothing. Eric Thompson, her father, was a writer and director who became well-known in Britain for his work on the children’s TV series The Magic Roundabout.
